Don’t feel like getting off the couch? Here are some great songs to get you ready to workout and keep you motivated throughout the effort.
I’ve tried to include a mix of genres and music from many eras, and I’ve left out most top 40 songs because while they may be good for lifting your spirits they are easily and often replaced*.
Going for a run:
"Start Me Up" - The Rolling Stones
“Highway to Hell” - ACDC
“Stronger” - Kanye West
“Go Faster” - Black Crowes
“Omen” - The Prodigy
“The Distance” - Cake
“Home” - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Working out with a buddy:
“Should I Stay or Should I Go?” - The Clash
“Feel Good Inc” - Gorillaz
“Lose Yourself” - Eminem
“Back it Up” - Talib Kweli
“Protect Ya Neck” - Wu-Tang Clan
“I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” - Arctic Monkeys
“Elevation” - U2
Getting through a set:
“Welcome to the Jungle” - Guns N’ Roses
“Testify” - Rage Against the Machine
“Grown Simba” - J. Cole
“Hustlin’” - Rick Ross
“Mama Said Knock You Out” - LL Cool J
“Enter Sandman” - Metallica
”50 in the clip” - Dead Prez
*I also left out “Eye of the Tiger” just because.
