DESCRIPTIONWhen used correctly, the elliptical trainer is a great machine for cross training since it is a low impact alterative to running. To get the health benefits from the machine, be sure to have the resistance up enough so that your heart rate becomes elevated (should be able to speak a short sentence but not carry on an extended conversation).
Furthermore, even though you may feel like a gazelle on this machine, you shouldn't look like one. Try keeping your body as still as possible while your legs are turning so you don't bounce up and down. You'll use your leg muscles more and get a better overall workout.
