DESCRIPTION
Stationary bikes come in many different styles, some with the foot pedals directly under your body and others with the pedal out in front of your body. Some come with pre-designed programs where you pick your resistance level with a number, and others where you only do your own program and change with resistance with a knob.
No matter which type of bike you work out on, they are all low impact and use many of the major muscles of the lower body. Just be sure you hike the resistance up enough to get an adequate cardiovascular workout (should be able to talk in short sentences but not carry on an extended conversation).
